Tour of life II

In 2018, nine of our trainees went in a completely different direction on our Tour of Life II..... a place where they faced the challenges of dealing with silence, polar bears, snow, ice and crevasses on skis for 10 days, completely on their own!

In the northernmost polar circle, in Spitsbergen, a destination was chosen that could not have been more physically and, above all, mentally challenging. "Those people are a true example of the fact that everything is possible," was the clear summary of Lars Christian Larssen, one of the tour guides from Ousland Polar Explorations, who accompanied the group on the 10-day ski tour to the highest glacier peak, Newtontoppen.

The second guide, Sebastian Gjolstad, also expressed his enthusiasm for the project and the trainees: "This has been the most successful project in my short career and I will never forget it."

"Physically and above all mentally, the tour was a borderline experience for the entire team. It took each and every one of us quite a bit of effort. We surpassed ourselves - you can only do that if you have boundless trust in your team. We were travelling without a safety net," says Bodo Janssen.

In the end, all the trainees reached the top of the Newtontoppen in the Arctic Circle!
